Global Leaders Start Here

At YingHua International School (YHIS), our mission is to enable academic excellence and prepare students for compassionate, effective, and ethical global citizenship by facilitating English and Chinese language acquisition and instilling a passion for lifelong learning.

Explore YingHua!

We inspire students from age 18 months through Eighth Grade to reach their individually unique potential.

A YingHua education encourages students to be creative, globally conscious, and lifelong learners. Through a comprehensive academic curriculum we provide a fun, nurturing, and experiential hands-on immersion experience. Our students are given a platform to build, consider, and share different perspectives.

I love watching my kids and their friends grow as YingHua grows, and I am often amazed by what the kids can do. They might not know exactly the same thing at exactly the same time as other kids but what they do is often something that is unimaginable to people who are comfortable with only one language. I have to say, bilingual kids are of their own kind! They need their own space to figure things out while the world around is still trying to figure them out: to a large extent how human brain acquires two or multiple languages simultaneously is still under research although there have been numerous studies showing cognitive, metacognitive, and social-emotional benefits of being bi/multilingual. I believe all YingHua students will grow and reach their full potential. This is why we send our kids to YingHua!

My three kids have been attending YingHua since pre-school. We originally picked YingHua for its language immersion as it was important for me that my kids are effectively bilingual. Subsequently, what we discovered and have continued to be impressed by is the approach to learning and teaching. Academic staff put in a lot of thought and creative ideas to bring the topics to life for the children. It is not about learning facts, it is about seeking knowledge, understanding why, encouraging kids to ask the right questions and conduct meaningful research. On a recent unit of inquiry about the solar system, each child was “assigned” a planet to become the expert on the planet. My daughter conducted the research and presented interesting facts about Uranus to her class, engaged in creative art projects e.g. a distance line artwork, airbrush painting of Uranus and even wrote a poem in Chinese about Uranus. It brings me joy watching the children thrive in an environment focused on whole person development, cultivating passion for learning and setting high standards.

We couldn’t be happier with the community and education our little guy has gotten thus far and look forward to more years ahead. The teachers are insanely dedicated to the welfare of each child and we can see our 3 year old absorbing the Mandarin effortlessly (which we do not speak ourselves).

We stayed in the Princeton area because of YingHua! We were committed that our child would have an education in a diverse community, and we are passionate about having language exposure at an early age for all that it does for brain development and the possibilities it opens up later in life. The most delightful surprise about YingHua has been the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. I didn’t know about it prior to YingHua, but I would be sending my kids to an IB school now regardless of the language immersion. The importance of inquiry-based learning is so clear. I wish those I interacted with at work had that skill as adults! We are grateful for the outstanding education our kids will get at YingHua, and fully recommend the experience!
