Each year, YHIS admits students from Pre-School (age 3) to elementary grades as space allows. YHIS wishes to enroll students who exhibit an eagerness for learning. Accordingly, our admission process concentrates on examining each child’s potential to contribute to and benefit from participating in the YHIS community.

Applicants are placed into a grade level according to birth date with a December-31st cutoff. In addition, maturity, social skills and educational achievement are all considered.

Although there is no official deadline for applications, the first round of admission decisions are made by the end of March. To secure placement, parents are advised to apply by mid-February.

Step 1

Call (609) 375-8015 to schedule a personal tour or to register for an Open Classroom, scheduled once a month from November through May.

Step 2

After the visit, complete a registration form.

Step 3

Upon receipt of the application, students entering Pre-S through Kindergarten are invited to attend a playgroup at the school for a couple of hours so teachers and administrators can get to know each child. Students entering First Grade and up are invited to spend one day at the school.

Step 4

Applicants will receive notification of final decisions by the end of March. Thereafter, applications are accepted if space is available or will be waitlisted.
