Our History

Dr. Bonnie Liao founded YingHua Day School (YHDS) in Lawrenceville, NJ to provide a full-time Chinese-immersion education to a diverse student population, from age 3 through the elementary grades.

YHDS changed its name to YingHua International School (YHIS) to reflect more accurately the international culture of its curriculum and the diversity of its student population.  The School moved to Princeton, NJ. 

YHIS received accreditation from the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, Com- missions on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS).

YHIS moved into a new, spacious facility, formerly a public elementary school, in the historical town of Kingston, NJ.

YHIS became an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, offering the prestigious Primary Years Programme to students in early-education years through fifth grade.

To accommodate our growing student body and global vision, YHIS leased additional space for our students in grades 3-8 at the French American School of Princeton in Plainsboro, NJ.
